Align with Christ. Know your role. Overcome Barriers
Develop yourself. Serve others. Make Impact.
The Alignment Series is five sessions, each addressing an aspect of the church. Work well within these areas, and your church will see a harvest. Work poorly, and your church will be stuck despite the hard work and good intentions. To see the harvest you hope for, you must understand four concepts and how they interplay with each session of the Alignment Series: alignment, clarity, focus, and urgency.
In this session, we answer the questions; what is Christ asking of the church, and how will you do it in the context of your community?
In session two, we examine how to communicate well with those within and outside the church to gain a positive response to Christ. While we can't control people's decisions, we can control our communication.
We will review your church's current programs, events, and services in the ministry session. We will narrow your focus by aligning and clarifying all church ministries with your mission.
In session four, you will develop a plan to grow your income and other resources to produce a more fruitful ministry. The four lenses of alignment, clarity, focus, and urgency will guide you throughout this session.
During the session on people, we will learn about a growth map for those you are trying to reach. Each individual in the church will write a development plan for themselves.
A focus on Jesus. John the Baptist said it well, "He must become greater, and I must become less and less." John 3:30 NLT
A lens to view the world that leads to action. "Jesus saw the huge crowd as he stepped from the boat, and he had compassion on them and healed their sick." Matthew 14:14 NLT
An understanding of the actions Jesus modelled and asks his disciples to do. "Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick." Luke 9:2 NLT
We will learn from Jesus what to celebrate. "In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!" Luke 15:7 NLT
